The following is the report of the 4th month of school in District No 8 of Madison Township which ended Friday Jan 16, 1880. The names of pupils not tardy are: Eli Abbitt; Linnie Busby; Lawrence Busby; Frank Busby; Mattie Busby; Isabella Brandon; George Butler; Sammy Butler; Willie Butler; Jennie Brandon; Edward Moriarity; Charlie Stroube; Earl Stroube; Peter Stoner; Annie Showalter; Willie Showalter; Maggie Torr; Willie Torr; Jimmie Turner; Alva Vickers; Abraham Vickers; Newton Vickers; William Vickers.  The pupils who were not absent are: Willie Torr; Charlie Stroube; Eli Abibitt; Lawrence Busby; Frank Busby; Peter Stoner; Geo Butler; Alvah Vickers; Abraham Vickers. The pupils who reached a general average of 90 or more on the written examination which was held on Friday are: Frank Stroube, 90; Willie Stroube, 91; Mattie Busby, 90; Linnie Bosby, 94; Annie Torr, 91; Isabella Brandon, 94; Jennie Brandon, 91; Edward Moriarity 90; Eli Abbitt, 93; Maggie E. Torr, 90. The highest reached was by Lizzie Brandon and Willie Torr each making an average of 94.  RH Walls, Teacher.
